George L. EllisPresidentPennsylvania Coal AssociationGeorge Ellis was appointed President of the Pennsylvania Coal Association on Jan. 1, 1996. Ellis joined the former Keystone Bituminous Coal Association in 1982 as executive vice president for government affairs and continued in that capacity following KBCA’s merger with the Pennsylvania Coal Mining Association to form PCA in 1988. Prior to joining the association, Ellis served as Executive Director of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives’ Mines & Energy Management Committee. Ellis graduated from King’s College (Wilkes-Barre) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. PCA is the principal trade organization representing bituminous coal operators - underground and surface, large and small - as well as other associated companies whose businesses rely on a thriving coal economy. PCA member companies produce over 80 percent of the bituminous coal annually mined in the Commonwealth. |
